Now that 2019 is well upon us, we’ve compiled the payment schedule for the various PROs here for your review, as well as how much each distributes on an annual basis.

Jack White has always understood the importance of a strong color scheme. When The White Stripes were just starting out, Bobcat Records wanted to put out their first record but Jack White turned them down because they insisted on putting a neon green logo on the spine of their record. The White Stripes only used red, black, and white. This reflected their simple, but always effective, approach to rock music.

Evan Zwisler is a NYC-based musician who is most notably known for his work with The Values as a songwriter and guitarist. He is an active member of the Brooklyn music scene, throwing fundraisers and organizing compilations for Planned Parenthood and the Anti-Violence Project. He started playing music in the underground punk scene of Shanghai with various local bands when he was in high school before going to California for college and finally moving to New York in 2012.

Say what you will about the life of blogs, but even today with all the power that streaming services like Spotify yield for discovering new music, you can’t take away the power of a well-written review or feature, and the influence that individual writers have over whether or not we decide to listen to a new track.

Most platforms have large engineering teams dedicated to all of this. We have a pretty good idea of how much money it’s costing these platforms every year, and we’re confident we can reduce that cost by at least 80%. At a time where profitability is key, I’d say we have a pretty appealing offer.

One of the first standalone units was the EchoSonic, an amplifier with a built-in tape loop for echo effects. It was built by Ray Butts, and it allowed guitar players to use slapback echo, which dominated 1950s rock ‘n’ roll guitar playing, on stage.

TAL-Reverb-III is a stereo plate reverb plugin that comes with onboard EQ filtering. It features very simple controls and 10 presets. This reverb is great for blending with room reverbs, and can also be used to create surreal effects only possible in your imagination. This is a very musical plate reverb that doesn’t over-color your instruments with digital-sounding harshness.

In 12-TET, you don’t define your intervals by tidy ratios of whole numbers. Instead, you divide up the octave into twelve equally-sized semitones (the interval between two adjacent piano keys or guitar frets). You then add semitones together to make all the other intervals. To go up a semitone from any note, you multiply its frequency by the 12th root of two. To go down a semitone from any note, you divide its frequency by the 12th root of two. If you go up by an octave (12 semitones), you’re multiplying your frequency by the 12th root of two 12 times, which works out to two.
